Feeding patterns vary enormously from baby to baby and day to day. This is here to help you keep track, not medical advice. For questions about feeding, weight, or supply, talk with your provider or a lactation consultant.

Tracking more than feeds now? Gentle Baby brings feeding, sleep, and diapers into one calm place, and your feeds here import straight in.

About feed tracking

How do I time a breastfeeding session?

Tap Left or Right when your baby latches on that side. The timer for that side runs until you tap it again or switch to the other side. When you are done, tap Finish feed and the session is saved with the time on each side.

How does the next-side reminder work?

The tracker remembers the last side you used and gently suggests starting on the other side next time, which helps keep both sides comfortable and your supply balanced.

Can I track bottle feeds and pumping too?

Yes. Switch to the Bottle tab to log an amount, or the Pump tab to time a pumping session and record how much you collected. You can show amounts in millilitres or ounces, and everything is saved on your device and works offline.

How often should a newborn feed?

Newborns often feed 8 to 12 times in 24 hours, roughly every 2 to 3 hours, including overnight. Feeding on demand, whenever your baby shows hunger cues, is normal and helps establish your supply. Frequency settles as your baby grows.

What is cluster feeding?

Cluster feeding is when a baby wants to feed very frequently over a few hours, often in the evening or during a growth spurt. It is normal and usually temporary. Tracking it can help you see the pattern and reassure you that it passes.
